
Floyd Backpack Program - New River Community Action
The Floyd Backpack Program is a 100% volunteer-run initiative operated by New River Community Action (NRCA) that helps meet the nutritional needs of Floyd County children for the weekend. Food is distributed in ziplock bags to students every Thursday when school is in session. The program serves Floyd County children from Head Start through high school and has served all five schools and NRCA Head Start with over 3,800 meals provided each month.
