Our Commitment to Equality

Fresh Food Network is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to fighting food insecurity for everyone. We believe that access to food is a fundamental human right, and no one should face barriers based on who they are.

Fresh Food Network does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, veteran status, citizenship status, marital status, familial status, income level, housing status, immigration status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.

Scope

This non-discrimination policy applies to all aspects of our organization, including:

  • Food Access: Anyone may use our platform to find and access food resources. No account, identification, proof of income, or documentation is required to search for or visit food resources listed on our platform.
  • Volunteering: Volunteer opportunities are open to all qualified individuals. We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and abilities.
  • Resource Management: Organizations and individuals of all backgrounds are welcome to list and manage food resources on our platform.
  • Employment: Hiring, promotion, and employment decisions are made without regard to protected characteristics.
  • Partnerships: We partner with organizations that share our commitment to non-discrimination and equitable food access.

No Barriers to Food Access

We are particularly committed to ensuring that vulnerable and underserved populations can access food without barriers:

  • No identification or documentation is required to use our platform or visit listed resources
  • No proof of income, residency, or citizenship is required
  • No registration or account creation is required to search for food resources
  • Our platform is free to use and will always remain free
  • We do not collect personal information from individuals seeking food unless they voluntarily create an account

Note: Individual food resource locations listed on our platform are independently operated. While we encourage all listed resources to adopt non-discriminatory practices, Fresh Food Network cannot guarantee the policies of independently operated locations. If you experience discrimination at a listed resource, please report it to us.

Compliance

Our non-discrimination commitments are consistent with:

  • Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
  • Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972
  • Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
  • The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • The Age Discrimination Act of 1975
  • USDA non-discrimination requirements for food assistance programs
  • All applicable state and local non-discrimination laws
