Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy governs your use of the Fresh Food Network website and services. Fresh Food Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting food insecurity. We expect all users to use our platform responsibly and in accordance with this policy. Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your access.

Permitted Uses

You may use Fresh Food Network to:

  • Search for and locate free food resources in your area
  • View information about community fridges, food pantries, meal programs, and other resources
  • Register as a volunteer and sign up for volunteer shifts
  • Manage food resources if you are an approved resource manager
  • Submit updates, corrections, or reviews about food resources
  • Share food resource information with others who may benefit
  • Contact our team with questions, feedback, or support requests

Prohibited Activities

You may NOT use Fresh Food Network to:

Data and Privacy Violations

  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to collect data from the platform without written permission
  • Harvest email addresses, phone numbers, or personal information of users or resource providers
  • Sell, redistribute, or commercially exploit data obtained from the platform
  • Access or attempt to access other users' accounts or private information

Harmful Content and Behavior

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information about food resources
  • Post defamatory, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory content
  • Impersonate another person, organization, or Fresh Food Network staff
  • Submit fake reviews or ratings intended to manipulate resource listings
  • Use the platform to promote commercial products, services, or fundraising unrelated to food access

Technical Abuse

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, servers, or databases
  • Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code
  • Conduct denial-of-service attacks or otherwise interfere with platform availability
  • Circumvent security measures, rate limits, or access controls
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the platform

Food Safety Violations

  • Donate food known to be unsafe, contaminated, expired, or recalled
  • Tamper with food at community fridges or other resource locations
  • Misrepresent the contents, ingredients, or allergens in donated food

Enforcement

Fresh Food Network reserves the right to:

  • Investigate suspected violations of this policy
  • Remove or disable content that violates this policy
  • Suspend or terminate accounts at our sole discretion
  • Report illegal activities to law enforcement
  • Cooperate with law enforcement investigations
  • Pursue legal remedies for violations

Enforcement decisions are made at our sole discretion and are final. We are under no obligation to provide advance notice before taking action.

Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this policy, please report it to us immediately at abuse@freshfoodnetwork.org. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
